Scale Model Solar System

Create a scale model of the solar system in your local park.

Use the GPS on your device to set the position and scale of your own virtual solar system. Then walk through your model to visit the planets. This is a great way to appreciate the distances involved in interplanetary travel.

If you are indoors or do not have a GPS you can use one of the preset scales. (But remember, you'll gain a much better understanding of distance by walking through the virtual solar system.)

There are also pictures, statistics and background information about the objects you'll encounter in our 'local' space.
